AO "E-Circular" in partnership with AO "Verde e Moldova" announces the launch of the national campaign "ECO-INNOVATORS OF THE YEAR" which will take place between April and September 2023. The campaign is part of the Project "Plastic Waste in the Circular Economy: Community Solutions" implemented with the financial support of the Small Grants Program GEF SGP Moldova, implemented by UNDP.

The purpose of the campaign is to promote the slogan #RelinquishPlastic. In this sense, with the support and involvement of young people from the Republic of Moldova, we want to promote good practices of PREVENTION, REDUCTION AND RECYCLING of plastic waste among the population of all ages, the creation of a community of active YOUNG ECO-INNOVATORS with whom to communicate, collaborate and save the country and people from pollution, especially from plastic waste.

Although plastic has been an important material in the development of our modern society, its excessive use has led to serious environmental pollution problems and negative effects on our health. It is for this reason that we count on the Young Eco-Innovators to actively join this campaign to encourage people to stop using plastic and adopt greener and healthier alternatives.

Therefore, we invite all young people who want to get involved and implement their ideas to become part of this change movement and give up the plastic that is polluting the planet. Young people are encouraged to show creativity and ingenuity by organizing sports events, information and awareness workshops for the community, develop creative photo/video materials, etc., and of course to promote the message GIVE UP PLASTIC, sustainable consumption, reducing the use of products disposable plastic.

For more information, useful resources and of course rules for participation, we invite you to consult  Regulation_Campaign-ECOInnovators

The most active young people will be awarded at the end of the campaign!

The first one was also published this year Reference study on plastic waste in the Republic of Moldova. According to the study, only a small part of the total plastic waste generated in the country is recycled. The recycling rate in 2021 was only 3%. Most of the waste ends up in landfills or in the environment, which is a major problem for citizens' health and ecosystems. These results demonstrate that recycling is not the only, nor by far, the most effective solution in the fight against plastic waste at the national level. It is important to identify new solutions with an increased focus on prevention, reduction and reuse.
