The Chisinau Municipal Council approved this July the Regulation on sanitation and ensuring cleanliness in the city of Chisinau. The document establishes the unitary legal framework regarding the implementation of the sanitation service, defining the methods and conditions that must be met to ensure the service and cleanliness within the administrative-territorial radius of the city of Chisinau.

According to the data published in the IPM Yearbook 2019, during 2019 the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and its structures in the territory carried out planned and unannounced controls and drew up 1170 inspection documents and 235 control minutes in the waste management department and 91 inspection documents and 75 control reports at the chemicals department.
