On November 17, 2023, the "E-Circular Training and Consulting Center" AO in partnership with the "Verde e Moldova" AO and with the support GEF SGP Moldova Small Grants Program organized the first edition of Cnational conference: Circular Economy in the Republic of Moldova 2023, a first-of-its-kind national event that brought together public and private sector leaders, environmental and sustainability experts, and civil society representatives.

The conference was organized with the aim of discussing current challenges, emerging opportunities and possible partnerships to promote the circular economy at the national level. The event started with opening words from the organizers and key partners, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Culture, the Investment Agency of Moldova and GEF SGP Moldova, each underlining the importance of the transition to a circular economic model, where resources are used efficiently, waste are reduced and recycled, and the impact on the environment is minimized.

The agenda of the conference included discussion panels and inspirational presentations dedicated to a wide spectrum of topics aimed in particular at the efficient management of resources, the reduction of waste, especially plastic waste, the promotion of circular tourism and access to educational and informational resources in the field. Also, during the event, an exhibition area was organized where the evenimnet partners, the company Toreco SRL and EcoSave Foundation they presented equipment, products aimed at facilitating waste management and promoting the principles of the circular economy.

The participants of the event had the opportunity to know examples of success and good national and international practices and share ideas and concrete solutions regarding the implementation of circular business models. Last but not least, networking platforms were established to stimulate future collaborations and the exchange of experience between participants.

The organizers of the conference expressed optimism regarding its impact in accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable economic model in the Republic of Moldova. The event represented a significant step towards strengthening efforts and shared commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future!
